The Amazing World of Gumball
What is your favorite children's book and why?
"Where the Wild Things Are". I have read it to each of my children multiple times and we love the adventure of Max in his wolf suit.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Dolls, small animal figurines
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
I am inspired by anyone who chooses kindness, patience, and love - especially when it would be easier not to.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Spending time with my family, hiking, running with my dog, travelling, and a little bit of shopping.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
As a parent, I have seen how much a calm, compassionate clinician can matter to a child and their family. That perspective inspired me to pursue pediatrics and practice in a way that prioritizes trust, patience, and understanding.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I care for children across all stages and needs - from wellness visits and common illnesses to injuries and mental health concerns like ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I am known for being a careful listener and for creating a calm, child-centered environment - focusing on the child during the visits, explaining what to expect in age-appropriate ways, and moving at a pace that helps them feel comfortable. Through clear communication, patience, and consistency over time, I work to build trust so families feel heard, respected, and supported.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
I individualize care for children with special needs by taking extra time, moving at the child's pace, and adapting my communication and exam to their developmental, sensory, and emotional needs. I attempt to create a calm and predictable environment, and partner closely with families so every child feels safe, respected, and supported.
