Yes, our clinicians can often treat minor illnesses, injuries, and other health concerns virtually. We start by asking specific questions and getting a detailed history from the parent or guardian, then using video as a tool to observe the child. In many cases, this process is enough to make a diagnosis and create a treatment plan.

Your virtual clinician also has access to all your child’s medical records and can prescribe them medication.
If your child needs an in-person visit for any reason, Coastal Kids will help you schedule one. Together, we ensure that your child gets a complete and comprehensive evaluation.

It’s best to conduct the visit in a quiet, private, and well-lit part of your home with a stable internet connection. Put pets in another room and turn off the TV to minimize any distractions. For your safety and to ensure the highest quality of care, never conduct a telehealth visit while in a moving vehicle.

You can prepare just like you would for an in-office visit, jotting down questions or concerns ahead of time. We recommend logging on a few minutes early in case there are any technical issues. Your child (the patient) must be present for the visit. Please also have your child’s medication list and any other pertinent information nearby.

Yes, you will receive a text message and an email confirming your child’s appointment details, including the date, time, and instructions for joining the virtual visit.

Existing patients are not required to pay any fees up front. Your insurance company will be billed first and then you are responsible for the portion the insurance company does not cover. For self-pay patients, a telehealth visit costs $59.
