What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
I enjoy watching Gabby's Dollhouse with my children.
What is your favorite children's book?
I love reading There's a Monster in my Book, because I think it is a fun and entertaining book to read with my children.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My favorite toy when I was growing up was my pair of rollerblades.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My father is my greatest inspiration because he always has a positive outlook, even when things are difficult. I love how he makes the best out of every situation and does it with a big smile. He has faced many challenges in his life, but he has always been so resilient.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I love spending time with my family, we enjoy going to the park, the beach, and theme parks. When I want to relax and take a break, I enjoy coloring or scrapbooking.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I am passionate about mental health and preventative care. Introducing coping skills and emotion awareness at an early age can be preventative of a behavioral health crisis in the future.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I have been working in children's mental health services for over 10 years. Some modalities that I include in my practice are CBT, SFT, motivational interviewing, trauma focused CBT and narrative therapy. In my work with children and teenagers I primarily utilize play therapy, bibliotherapy and art therapy that introduces CBT interventions and skill development to address symptoms or behaviors related to anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, conflict resolution, problem-solving, adjustment difficulties and grief.
