What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
Lion King
What is your favorite children's book and why?
I love all the Jory John Food Group Series, they teach such valuable lessons for kids, how to be kind, accepting one another and their differences etc.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
I loved my Barbies, Trolls and sticker collection
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
I hope to write a book one day. I love reading and story telling. Hoping I can take that creativity one day and put it to good use :)
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I’m a Disney adult through and through, although we don’t have passes anymore, it holds a special place in our hearts. I love reading, working out at 5:30 am every morning and soaking in beach time in Kauai.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
During nursing school I volunteered as often as I could to go on medical trips. I traveled to Botswana and lived there for one month for my public health class. I slept on a ship hammock in Brazil for 10 days traveling from village to village to provide medical care to families. I lived in an orphanage in Thailand while taking care of the little ones. Pediatrics has always tugged at my heart strings.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I’m very social once I get to know you. I love being able to meet new families and building a unique relationship with each of them. We all come from such different backgrounds, I love getting to know more about each family and how we are so dynamic. I love being able to provide guidance and reassurance on their little ones as they navigate parenthood for the first time or being there as a support for the seasoned parents.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
We see many patients with complex medical issues. Working with other interdisciplinary team members is what makes us all grow together as a team to help our patients strive.
