We’re experts at providing and coordinating care
Whether you just delivered a newborn baby or your child needs specialty care, Coastal Kids is with you every step of the way – even when you’re receiving care outside of our offices. We work closely with specialist doctors and hospitals to make sure your child gets the care they need, including the smooth transition of medical records and treatment plans once their hospital stay is over.
Congratulations on the birth of your new baby! At the hospital, your newborn will receive care from a pediatrician or a pediatric hospitalist (a primary care physician who works exclusively in a hospital environment). Though we make rounds at many local hospitals, this doctor may or may not work for Coastal Kids, based on the rules in place by the hospital where you deliver.
Keep in mind that seeing a pediatrician or a pediatric hospitalist employed by a hospital does not guarantee you better care. You have the freedom to see any pediatrician you want as soon as you leave the hospital, based on factors like the services they offer, their proximity to your home, their reputation in the community, and more.
You will need to schedule your first pediatric visit within 48 hours after you get home from the hospital — and Coastal Kids makes it simple! Wherever you plan to deliver, we can coordinate your new baby’s care. Call our office to book your first appointment now.
It’s hard for any parent to think about their child spending time in a hospital. As a Coastal Kids patient, we will work hard to make sure your child has access to the specialty care they need and deserve — whether that means connecting you with specialists in your community or working with your insurer to get the hospital stay approved.
Even when your child receives care elsewhere, the Coastal Kids team is still by your side, collaborating with the hospital and/or specialty care team to keep your child’s medical records updated. We also help transition your child’s care back to us whenever their treatment is complete.
